Liquid Crystal Polymer

Among today's commercially available thermoplastic resins, the liquid crystal polymer "Xydar" has outstandingly superior heat resistance, thin-wall molding, high strength, high elasticity, dimensional accuracy, and other features, and boasts world top-class heat resistance. At present, demand is rapidly increasing not only in the electrical and electronics fields but in the office equipment field. The high dimensional accuracy of Xydar in particular expands the range of applications to precision parts and contributes to equipment miniaturization and improved economy.

Superior characteristics not seen in other resins

Heat resistance

Solder heat resistance

With an extremely high deflection temperature under load (240-350℃), Xydar is used in many electronic parts that are exposed to soldering.

Flame resistance

Xydar is essentially flame resistant. As this flame resistance derives from the polymer backbone, UL V-O certification has been obtained without any flame retardant included.

Fluidity

Xydar has remarkable High flowability, allowing it to easily mold into complex part shapes and thin-walled moldings. Also, Xydar generates few burrs and sink marks, and has superior workability.

Low burring

Xydar has outstanding thin-wall fluidity and supports ultraprecision molding. Furthermore, since almost no burrs are generated, deburring is unnecessary.

Low outgas

Since Xydar generates very little outgas, die maintenance is greatly reduced and productivity is much improved.

Shortened molding cycle

Xydar's solidification speed is much higher than other thermoplastic resins, making it possible to shorten the molding cycle significantly.

Molding at low die temperatures

Unlike ordinary crystalline polymers (such as PS, PA, and PBT), the properties of Xydar moldings are less affected by die temperatures. With normal molding, it is possible to mold at a die temperature of 100℃ or below.
